The owner and staff have years of experience in the music industry including recording, performing, songwriting, and production. Here’s a little bit about who we are:
The Lucky Run Team
Michael is a seasoned professional with more than 30 years experience as a mixer/audio engineer/producer & studio owner. Michael founded and ran a very successful commercial studio/music complex for some 23 years in the extremely competitive Southern California music scene. He worked with both major artists as well as hundreds of unsigned acts, in addition to his work in film, TV and radio.
Michael has also been a college level audio instructor as well as an engineer for the publishing giant MCA.
Michael has been presented with numerous gold and platinum records for his work. In addition, he is a 25 year voting member of NARAS (the Grammys), a board member for NARIP, and maybe the most patient and “low pressure” engineer/producer you will ever work with!
Ernie has a long history as an engineer/producer in Houston, as 8th Note Productions. Besides being a terrific engineer, he is a Gold Record recipient, and a two time Grammy winner . Over the course of his recording career, Ernie has had a number of records that have charted and even topped the Billboard charts. But maybe most important to you as the artist . . . . he is someone who is very easy to work with!
In addition to his years of experience in production, arranging and engineering, he brings with him some truly great audio equipment in terms of mic pre- amps, compressors and microphones to add the already excellent selection here at Lucky Run.
Ian takes great pride in striving for excellence believing, “The only way to be great is to study the greats.” With experience in songwriting, production, composition and engineering, Ian offers insight to take your song to the next level regardless of genre. He realized his passion for music at the age of 11 and hasn’t stopped since, receiving his bachelor's degree in Audio Production from The Art Institute of Houston as an honor student. His instrument of choice is the piano, in which he continues to be classically trained. In addition, Ian has also assisted Classical 91.7 in the production of “The Front Row” as well as their location recordings around the city of Houston.
Eddie Ferguson, Jr.
Born June 1980 in Houston, Texas to Bishop Eddie Ferguson, Sr. and First Lady Lorna Ferguson, the oldest of 2 children, Eddie Jr. began to teach himself how to play instruments at the age of 13. This up and coming producer of pop, R&B, hip hop and gospel, has his hands in many ventures. Recently managing projects alongside Mr. Matthew Knowles of Music World Productions and Max Gousse of Def Jam, as well as working with gospel greats such as Brian Courtney Wilson, Earnest Pugh, Shawn McLemore, and hip hop girl group Blushhh just to name a few. Eddie currently serves as the Minister of Music at his church with his beautiful wife Shannon Ferguson as Praise and Worship Leader. This dynamic duo also have their own company, Walk One Productions.
Guy Branche is a music producer and audio engineer. He has worked with numerous artists ranging from indie rock to electronic dance music and R&B.
While attending the University of Houston, Guy worked for a live production company and was able to get his start working live sound for numerous national acts. Knowing his passion was in music, Guy pursued his second degree in Audio Engineering from MediaTech Institute. Ever since, Guy has taken his wide range of influences and brought them into his songwriting and producing.
Guy is also a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, piano, drums, and bass. He loves working with artists to help create their vision for their music! In his spare time, when he’s not working with artists, you can find him writing songs or doing voice-overs!
Brent Dixon is a producer/engineer that established himself in 1992. To name a few, Brent has worked with legends such as Public Enemy, Chuck D, Mavis Staples, KRS One, Scarface, David Banner, MC Lyte and southern soul artist, Pokey Bear. His production skills have grown beyond music and has moved into television and other media scoring projects. Through his years in the industry, Brent forged a partnership with Dubose Communications which lead to scoring projects like: The Michael Vick Show, The Tiny & Toya Show, Trey Songz’ ten-part docu-series “My Moment”, MTV variety shows, ESPN Sports Center. Along with this Brent also has a partnership with Native Instruments, Sounds.com & Akai where he provides sound libraries and sound designing work for.
